Overview of CranioSacral Therapy
A one day workshop
CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch therapy that works primarily with the CranioSacral
System. The CranioSacral System is made up of the Brain, Spinal Cord, Cerebral Spinal Fluid and the surrounding membranes, called the Meninges, that contain them. As CranioSacral Therapists we learn to work directly with this system, which contains all of our Cranial Nerves and Spinal Nerves. The Cranial and Spinal nerves exit their internal environment via the meninges, thus, if there is restriction within the meninges this can put pressure on the nerves and can therefore have the potential to create problems in the organs and myofascial structures of the body that these nerves serve. While the core of our training is learning to work with the CranioSacral System, we also learn to evaluate and treat fascial restrictions throughout the body as a whole. As a light touch modality, CranioSacral Therapy (CST) has the ability to create dramatic improvements to the structure and function of the body. It releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improves whole-body health and performance.
In this one day workshop, “Overview of CranioSacral Therapy” you will be introduced to the history and principles of CranioSacral Therapy, you will learn how to feel the movement of the Cerebral Spinal Fluid, how to evaluate and treat restrictions of the transverse fascial Diaphragms, how to evaluate and release restrictions of the Dural Tube (the meninges containing the spinal cord), along with serval other useful techniques.
This workshop is an introduction to the work that Dr John Upledger developed, if you find that you would like to learn more, the next step would be to register for a CranioSacral Therapy 1 seminar. If you register within 30 days of taking this workshop you will be discounted the amount you paid from the CST 1 total.
